3 DAYS OF DESIGN 2024

Two fragrances will be featured at the Danish Art Workshops exhibition during the 3 Days of Design event from June 12-14, 2024. The highly talented artist and curator of this exciting exhibition has thoughtfully chosen two distinctive scents, Pine Wood & Pineapple, to enhance the exhibition space.
Prior to the panel discussion, we met with Birgitte Due Madsen, who answered a few questions about her vision for this collaboration.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO ADD SCENTS TO THE EXHIBITION?
Design is a process and a "problem-solving" discipline that involves planning and creating products, services, environments, and experiences. By combining aesthetics, functionality, and technology, you aim to solve a problem or meet a need.
With the SELECTED PROJECTS exhibition at the Danish Art Workshops, we aim to engage and stimulate the sensory pathways through which humans experience and interact with the world: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. When discussing design, these senses are crucial, especially in creating a holistic experience that engages multiple senses to enhance the user experience.
The fragrances Pine Wood and Pineapple were specially created to resonate with the unique notes found in the two workshops.
WHY EMMANUEL MARTINI WAS SELECTED AS THE SCENT DESIGNER
Bringing Emmanuel on board for this exhibition was a seamless decision, rooted in our previous collaborations and a mutual desire to create something unique together. Emmanuel's distinct sensitivity and remarkable talent for interpreting impressions made him the ideal choice. I was confident he would understand my vision for the two carefully selected fragrances, which are deeply intertwined with the Danish Art Workshops for various reasons. Capturing the history and essence of this location is vital for the exhibition, as all the showcased works were produced here. Through this collaboration, I aimed to evoke the scents of the space, providing a sensory backdrop during 3daysofdesign at the Danish Art Workshops.
